It’s back. With smashing new covers that are suitable for work! 🙂 Hit eXplosion delivers all hits of Januari 2010 in a single package. Download sites are hard to find (can’t host it myself due to its not my work, sorry) but can still pick it up from usenet. And even our usenet search engine has changed.

The Stitch Liveshow is a ‘weekly’ show playing a different musical genre each week. Follow the Stitch Liveshow on Twitter.

For those of you who don’t know: these songs stem from 1983 to 1988 and was one of the larger sounds in discos in western europe and the US.

From “The Best Of Italo Disco” I selected some melodious tunes and mixed them together. During selection all songs started to sound the same, so i tried the <120 bpm section since it has more variety. Those radio/short edits also don’t work 😉 I’ll try some new mixing styles in the next weeks.

As a true compilation series, I was missing a few insanely great tunes. A lot of them are on this “the best of” though… still looking for a remix of Paul Sharada – Florida (move your feet). On discogs the original records do very well; about 15 euro a piece and about 50 people are looking for them.

Some friends told me the Italo scene is still lively, with new cd’s being released until this day. Since i’m missing a lot of classics, i guess another Italo mix is in the pipeline.

Personal favorite: among many Joe – Yellow Wild Boy, Scotch – Pictures and Miko Mission – How Old A You.

Today I selected the best trance tunes from Rave Mission; an overrated German dance compilation. Out of all tracks only 10% was useable, the rest was too simple, out-of-bound or just plain shitty. The same label of Rave Mission also creates “Trance Meister”; a name that makes me giggle. But I’ve gotta be fair; there are some really good songs here and for the time (1994-2001) it probably was alright.

It would have helped eating lesser candy before the set; during the first half hour I was too eager to start new tracks. If Daim would by any more delicious, it would probably be the new popular cause of death. The picture/album art (above) shows the result of 30 minutes of contact between a human and Daim. Death by Daim anyone?

On the upside; I figured out that trance is fun to play and even can put the dj in a trance. Great stuff. Just what the world needs; another trance dj :p

Deep insane BASS and a great technical set; loud woofing speakers make both the ceiling and floor shake. No complaints from the neighbors, not loud enough…

We start off with some melodic dubstep, building towards low, deep and dark. At the end the power steps back in with ripping tunes. After brutal insanity some violent songs about guns and killing finish it off.

Dubstep is amazing. Don’t play this over any crappy stereo; blast this trough the largest set of speakers you’ve got lying around on maximum volume. When in doubt; also hook up your subwoofer from any surroundset in your neighborhood.

Fucking hell, this is the shit! My personal favorite is L-Wiz with Girl from Codeine City; the saxophone works magical. Next week something completely different, and hopefully as good as this. I’m gone… gotta snatch a trolley lol 😀

Git-git-git git-busy. Haha most of you “youngsters” might never heard before, but Hip House was a combination between house and hiphop. It topped the charts between 1988 and 1991 with various hits made by Tyree Cooper and Fast Eddy.

For this mix i selected some rare/great hip house tracks from between 1989 and 1991, which even I never heard before. As you know, my livemixes are not practiced before, so i was amazed at how great some tunes are.

Once it starts rolling its unstoppable. Just give it a try, you won’t be disappointed; it’s groovy as hell. I’m still in a rush! 🙂

Also my new Ms Pinky vinyls shipped in, and they mix more solid than finalscratch2. Check out the picture for a “splatter matter” disc; a work of art.

Finding good tracks from the Dutch Dance Top 30 was a difficult; from the bucket of 700 tracks I found about 150 worthwhile… my personal selection goes towards 40, but there are some masterpieces which aren’t my style. Other than that, it’s the first time i’ve heard any dance from 2009 and it took a while getting used to. After the mix I still found some other good tracks, of which “Call Me Al – Dj Rebel’s Radio Mix” is a nice one.

Again I produced this live mix without knowing any song. Instead of the usual 20:00 it was recorded at 15:00, had to create some high-tech VHS with a few friends. While driving to the friend to create the VHS, we reviewed this mix. We came up with a new term: “Girl-To-Old-Man-Mix”. You’ll find out what that means when Deadmau5 is crossfaded to Gregor Salto. Also experienced just after minimal songs climax, its the same old man. Thanks for reading this 🙂

A selection of the finest tracks from “Techno Trance”, a Dutch compilation CD from the 90’s. In contrast to previous mixes, this one is pretty good and mixed pretty fast. I played 25 songs in about 45 minutes, which is nice for this genre. Also mixed without removing the headphones from my head while continuously on the edge.

Actually I had to mix this one twice; forgot to punch in the record button the first time. Happens. Anyway; imperfection and improvisation is part of the game. Enjoy this one.

Image Copyright Disney, the disney-dj stitch is no more, so i took some liberty here...I just finished mixing together a fine selection of Happy Hardcore tunes. Happy Hardcore from around 1996, in the Netherlands, so not UK Happy Hardcore. Preventing myself from playing track you might not know, I selected a lot of popular ones; which makes mixing difficult since most of them are 3-minute radio edits. But I made it trough perfectly, given some clashing melodies minor glitches. The mixing is better than the previous set; tighter and, in the end, even with some minor scratching and fiddling.
